Though, with three beautiful little girls to have and hold plus a little boy on the way, I have to say it is a WONDERFUL life.
So what all has happened since the last time I blogged. Lets see... Bethany has had not 1 but 2 birthdays, she is now 5 years old and loving pre-k with Mrs. Winton and Ms. Lupita. She LOVES to read and continues to read very well for her age. She is now reading chapter books like the Magic Tree House series.(in AR she reads anything up to and including 4)She is looking forward to swimming lessons this summer. Claira is 3 1/2. She is just plain wonderful, happiness exudes from every pore of that child. Everyone notices her exuberant, friendly spirit. She has learned her letters and sounds but hasn't figured out reading yet. She is quite bright though and is looking forward to pre-k next year. Oh and I forgot to mention she is now a "Sunbeam" in church primary. Now for my little Elliana. She is 1 1/2 years old, still quite bald and silent, but she is possibly the cutest thing you have ever experienced. She has a joyous spirit like Claira and a contemplative quietness like Bethany. She LOVES to snuggle more than Bethany and Claira at this age did put together. She is shy but happy and though she has been communicative for a long time now she has only just started to use words. At church she enjoys nursery with the other little ones. She is very well behaved if only for the fact that one of her very favorite things to do is sit in little chairs, just sit nice and quiet. Ellie also loves having books read to her. Her favorite is The Pudgy Bunny. Jared, the love of my life continues to amaze me. He is still a talented, caring high school science teacher. He is in the elder's quorem presidency at church and he is trying to finish up his masters this semester. Me, I stay home with the girls. I was VERY sick for my first trimester, but have since had a wonderful practically pain free pregnancy. A vast, vast improvement from my pregnancy with Ellie. I'm enjoying my calling as primary president at church. I love the sweet little kids I get to work with every week. And that is us in a nutshell. The highlight of the past year was probably our big trip to California. We were able to go with a close family friend, Alan Roes. Aside from their Dad and maybe their Mom(but the competition is TIGHT)Alan is the girls' favorite person. We also took Dar, one of Jared's past students to help with the kids. We did Sea World, the san diego zoo, Disneyland, California Adventures, universal studios and the beach. It has always been a dream of mine to take my little family to Disneyland and this past year my dream came true. It was AMAZING. We had such a great time! But along with those big family moments there are also the little moments you want to treasure forever. I have kept a small record of some of those events that have made us smile over the year.
- Jared had just finished pouring me some orange juice. He asked Claira if she could please bring it in to me. She took the cup and while walking over to me started drinking it. When she looked up, she saw that I was watching her drink my orange juice and that she had been caught. To excuse herself from this little act of thievery she said,"There were bugs in it, so I drank it because I like bugs."
-Bethany was eating eggs for breakfast when she sneezed. I asked her if she was OK because her sneeze sounded funny. She looked at me and replied, "I needed to keep my mouth closed so I didn't "bless you" these out"
-I was watching a very touching video clip with Claira snuggled up next to me. I cried through the whole thing. Claira must not have noticed because when the video was over she said in a very confused voice, "I'm all wet. Why am I all wet? Mom, you're all wet, why are you all wet?" She was very concerned but I was too busy laughing to explain.
-Jared has a dunce cap to use as decor for his book presentations. Bethany found it and put it on. When Jared saw her, Bethany asked him if she looked pretty. He said," yes, but I don't want you to play with it. You don't want to wear that anyway. Do you know what dunce means?" Bethay shook her head no and this conversation ensued...
Jared:it means stupid
Bethany:what does stupid mean
Jared:not so smart
Bethany:ohhhh, so you are stupid
Jared:why do you think I'm stupid?
Bethany:because you don't know how to make noodle soup.(top ramen)
end conversation (because Bethany's parents are trying to control their laughter so they can explain more seriously that we don't call people stupid)
Bethany has watched and helped me make noodle soup many many times(it being her favorite meal) She knows the steps boil water, cook noodles, turn off heat, stir in seasonings. One day she observed Jared making noodle soup. He put the seasonings in at the SAME time as the noodles. This, she knew, was NOT correct and has ever since believed that Dad is an inferior cook, at least as far as noodle soup was concerned. :)
-Claira,"DAD, DAD COME HERE, I need to show you this little thing!" pointing at the little thing on her plate she asks,"do you see the little thing?" Jared sees the little thing and thinking he was going to need to convince her this was a crumb and not a bug he picked it up. Claira says calmly now,"thats a little boogger, don't eat it."
-Driving along in the car on one of our many road trips we were playing the letter game. We had gotten all the way to Z. Claira says "Z says zzzzz" Jared responded,"zzzz like zzzzzebra" Claira says," and like B" Jared and I look at eachother ????? Claira, perhaps noticing our confusion explains," Bees also say zzzzz."
There you have it, just a few snippits into our wondeful life. And though we are busy and the kids can be difficult and life can be stressful, they fill it with overriding joy and overwhelming happiness. We love them so much and I for one feel so blessed to have this wonderful, amazing family. I'm also terribly excited(and nervous) to add this little guy to the mix.Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-39427493479074976962010-12-10T21:39:00.001-08:002010-12-10T21:51:00.941-08:00grapefruit

My husband is a bit of a Grinch when it comes to Christmas. No one would ever guess this because He is so happy all season long. But around our house the holiday season is better known as grapefruit season and that puts a smile on Jared's face. My husband LOVES grapefruit. He has been known to eat ten large grapefruit in a sitting. Normally he has to restrain himself to just a few(3 or 4). I also love grapefruit and Jared constantly points out what an act of love it is when he shares his grapefruit with me. We should have guessed but we didn't expect that our 2 and 3 year old would be equally obsessed with the fruit. Now Jared has to share his precious grapefruit with our daughters. He was doing this this evening. Bethany was sitting on his lap. One bite for him one for her one for him one for her. Jared decided to squeeze in an extra bite for him. "Daddy, why do you get 2 bites and I get 1. You get 1 bite I get 1 bite." Nothing gets past that little one she is sooo cute!
Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.5
Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-60980185465692742182010-11-22T15:18:00.001-08:002010-11-22T15:18:41.627-08:00Kids play with the weirdest things

I let the girls keep playing while I was taking a shower today. My girls are an absolute delight. They say and do the funniest things sometimes. Here are a few recent ones from Bethany that made us smile.

Bethany has gotten very adept at using our motorola droid phones. she has now started to download apps to our phones without permission. you can't do that we said. she said "yes. I can, I'm a little bit big enough to do that."

The other day jared was showing me his power point presentation for his relationship workshop. Bethany was on my lap not wanting to be left out. Jared and I were talking about the slides when Bethany cut in "s" "e" "x", that spells sex. You shouldn't have to be that careful around you're 3 year old
Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.5
Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-11812254542701614492010-10-11T13:04:00.000-07:002010-10-14T16:31:01.653-07:00Lets play catch upWelcome back blogger world. She was 6lbs 12oz, my biggest baby yet. And boy was she beautiful. My favorite doctor Dr. Evans was able to deliver her. She also delivered Claira. This was pretty neat because she was not my primary doctor for this pregnancy due to her being on maternity leave.

My mom was able to come out for a week or so prior to the big day. She LOVES her new doll that cries like a real baby. Grandma couldn't resist getting Bethany one too and ended up get Claira an additional birthday present.

And then it was Sat. Jared was working up in Abq. He couldn't leave his booth at the mall without getting fined. His brother was dropping his sister off hours away in the mountains for camp. This is the day Elliana decided to join us. I was nervous he wasn't going to make it. Not really worried just nervous. It was certainly a relief when he finally got there.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKXWb6wO2jdDlLiyYU0rF9vrNtbdZwy90mysb6uUw60EnSbMs1ZPzvG48YeflXexWfdbfFIo9Sn8z8DF7ZAXubCi8T24DZbexoqegt_WGBCFH5AOyy2o0aishkiWVQOJ_VOzNYgjMTb6Y/s320/IMG_7235.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5528024356453267602" />
nervous smile
Elly came into the world that Saturday evening with a nick name(Elly) and a middle name(Afton, after Jared's grandmother). Her full name, Elliana, wasn't decided until the following morning. The name came from a little ways down the list of E names we had considered. I always thought the name was just beautiful but I couldn't see myself having a little Elliana for a daughter, that is until I held her in my arms and called her Elliana for the first time. It just fit. The name means daughter of God, and she is just that, a beautiful daughter of our Heavenly Father.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 256px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdnXA2T2pLn7f4d1dv6fsH5pz5eLx750tDjIXFMXtv5R92Q5joUOxwWaQYSVmgHn2EqXTCiASsOzGhju_55z5-WHwQQMu1EJCTCphWDSw-1iDQo2QC1bLP13Lw5zJovxWfjjt4Ur5UXvw/s320/IMG_7458+flower.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5528027260000581250" />
I am so blessed to have these wonderful girls. They amaze me daily. From Bethany telling us its ok we can just fix the clock with duct tape to Claira desperately running through the house so she can wave and say "I love you" to the garbage man as he dumps our trash to little Elliana and her very first smile. I love my life. And I am so incredibly grateful to be married to my very best friend. He is amazing with the girls, he is talented and intelligent and I just love to listen to him and be with him. We will be married for 5 years next year the 15th of March.

We share our anniversary with an incredible couple. They raised my best friend growing up Lisa and lived right across the street from us. Theirs, more than any marriage I observed during my youth, served as an inspiring example of love and commitment. They seemed to me to be best friends not just mother and father of their children. Unfortunately, this year Terry Carlton passed away. My heart breaks for his family he was greatly loved, but especially for Rosalie and the loss of her best friend. Not wanting to deal with it we just brought her to bed with us so we could get some more sleep. She was doing pretty well just laying there. I was about to fall back asleep when she says, "MOO, MOO". I turn over to look at her and she says, "I'm a Tow". With a big smile and a kiss, "Yes my Claira you're my baby cow". She snuggled up and went to sleep.

I was recounting this story to Jared when he got home from work. Bethany overheard and not wanting to be outdone by her sister jumped on Jared's lap and said, "I'm a cow." Jared and I kept talking when Bethany bursts out with, "Milk comes out of the cow's bottom." Ohhh Bethany you never cease to make me smile.Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-89305042434256730892010-05-16T10:49:00.000-07:002010-05-16T11:18:14.141-07:00Gila Valley Temple TripBethany loves to see the temple. She gets so excited when we go. Every time someone mentions the temple in one of their talks she looks at me and says, "He's talking about the temple!" She really likes to point out the angel Moroni on top and tell us how he's blowing his horn. When we heard the gila valley temple was having their open house, we knew we just had to go. Bethany was just ecstatic to find out she was going to get to see INSIDE.

We had so much fun and the temple was beautiful. We had to wait in line as our tour group waited for our turn and Bethany could hardly contain herself. Claira was getting into it too, staring up at the temple pointing, "temple, temple". When Bethany first walked in her eyes were huge. She just scoured the room, nothing went unnoticed. She and Claira enjoyed all the paintings of Jesus and the stunning chandeliers. As we walked out of the most beautiful room in the temple Jared asked Bethany,"Wasn't that a pretty room." Bethany answered, "No, Daddy. That was a gorgeous room."

Needless to say, she loved the trip. Unfortunately, we were asked to leave our cameras for the tour. I left mine in the car and didn't get it back out when we were finished to take pictures. I'm just horrible at picture taking.Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-87182332301900576012010-05-09T17:17:00.000-07:002010-05-09T17:37:44.768-07:00chocolate milkI love being a mother. It is such a joy to watch your children learn and grow, and of course with Bethany around it can be quite amusing. One of my favorite treats in the world is chocolate milk, don't ask me why. The girls have now adopted my love for the drink and every day, pretty much every time we eat Bethany asks for chocolate milk. We made a rule that you can only have one glass a day. Bethany usually has it after dinner for dessert. The other day she was adamant about having it after lunch. I told her that she wouldn't be able to have any for dinner. She considered that, but still decided to have some "now". I poured her the milk and she poured in the chocolate. Jared reiterated that she wouldn't be able to have any later. As she was stirring her milk she looked up at the bottle of chocolate and all of the sudden her face lights up."oh", she says,"This says 2, so I can have 1 more. I can have 2 glasses of chocolate milk." Jared and I were both thinking "what is she talking about". It was all said so matter of factly, we couldn't help but smile. We picked up the bottle and there clear as day, in big letters "2 MORE Oz". How do you argue with that? Luckily she didn't ask for chocolate milk after dinner. My girls are such a joy to me. Claira is getting more and more vocal every day. I am having so much fun with them. Being a mommy is great. Happy Mother's Day!Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-4676541324110134032010-04-25T16:35:00.000-07:002010-04-25T18:01:25.157-07:00Taking pictures is not my strong point. I'm constantly saying to myself,"oh the girls are so cute where's my camera" or "that is so funny I wish I had my camera". I don't know why its so difficult for me. But last night I started to feel a little better. I came to the conclusion that taking pictures is bad for my childrens health and well being.
You see I planned to take pictures Easter Sunday in their pretty Easter dresses but, Bethany and Claira both got sick on Easter. Claira was so feverish she didn't stay in her dress long enough for us to get any pictures. Luckily we managed to get pics a few weeks later. Last night Jared chaperoned prom. Before he left he asked if I could take a picture of the girls in their PJs (he had a PJ related blog post and wanted to have a picture). No big deal the girls' hair still looked cute from the day and I was putting them in their PJs anyway. Well he left and I found some cute coordinating PJs for the picture. Bethany got in hers just fine. After I got Claira undressed she wanted to go potty. She loves sitting on the toilet, but she doesn't have the hang of it. Anyway, I got her in her PJs and then left the bathroom to get the camera. It wasn't in my bag because Jared took it canooing. I looked in the container he used to keep it dry and it wasn't there either. I passed the bathroom looking in a different spot and the girls were still in the bathroom playing (a no-no in our house) and I yelled for them to get out. Still no camera I passed the bathroom looking in a different spot. My family knows I get a "little" frustrated when I can't find something. "Claira get out of the bathroom, do you need a time out!" I was searching the kitchen wondering what in the world Jared had done with the camera(had someone stolen it*), he just had it that afternoon! Suddenly, I heard a BIG crash and a startling scream. CLAIRA. She knocked the cupboards above the toilet down on herself. The cabinet can't actually fall on her but everything IN it can. The falling cabinet knocked her off her perch on the toilet. I found her on the ground shampoo, hairties and glass all around. I scooped her up and quickly assessed. There was blood, it could have been a lot worse. Just one slice right by her eye. She was crying of coarse and every time she wiped her eye she rubbed the cut. She wouldn't let me touch it. I needed to clean it so I'm holding her down. This is not the kind of comfort she wanted. Poor thing. Clean enough. She didn't want me consoling her now though, so she just wandered through the house crying. I was following along with a cloth wiping the blood. She was finally settling down, she had already made a few laps around the house. Then she suddenly sat down grabbed her foot and started screaming again. STUPID Mommy. I knew instantly what it was. I took her to the couch quickly and striped off her clothes. Sure enough her foot was bleeding, she must have had a little piece of glass in her PJs. Why didn't I take them off her in the first place!! Why didn't Jared put the stupid camera away?!! Why didn't I just physically take her out of the bathroom so none of this would've evn happened!!! GRRRRRRRR! On top of that I wasn't going to get the PJ picture!!!!! Well, I did eventually calm down AFTER the girls went to sleep, but it required a LARGE glass of chocolate milk.
Sooooo I'll try and get a picture of Claira's eye for you, but I'm a little gunshy, Bethany might end up cutting off her hair before the flash goes off.
P.S. Claira is doing just fine. Thank goodness.
*for my sisters' benefitKellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-38958142167309920212010-04-21T07:03:00.000-07:002010-04-21T07:44:58.326-07:00Easter Pictures<img style="display:block; I mean certainly it is fun at first, but I just don't have the personality for it.
I can barely decide what I want to eat off the menu when the waitress comes by (for the fourth time). There are just too many good things to choose from and I am just too horribly indecisive.
But when it comes to picking out the name of my own child that I will love the rest of my life, I might as well give up. You might be thinking, "don't stress you still have 100 days, thats plenty of time". But I've been thinking about names for months and the list hasn't gotten any shorter it hasn't even gotten any longer, it hasn't even stayed the same. It is conitinually morphing like it has a life of its own. And where is Jared in all this, well he's "fine" with any of the names we've picked out. Does that mean he's excited about any of the names, NO. He's completely unreadable.
Anyway new to the list
Enjoli (ahn jol E)
EmmilynKellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-78800109744071548672010-03-03T13:29:00.000-08:002010-03-03T13:38:19.072-08:00FloorsHurray!! I finally got my new floors. I am so excited! They are a light colored maple laminate floor and the house is going to look great. Now all we need to do is install it. 1,600 square feet of it. Yikes! Thankfully my Mom is coming to help with the installation. She did her floors when they moved from CA. Its going to be so much work, but I can't wait!

I certainly hope I will be able to post pictures soon, but we'll see.Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-49797936358900193692010-02-25T15:46:00.000-08:002010-02-25T16:10:27.997-08:00Birthday PicturesThe Cake Yummy
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieG9coP1Rkuznrq0EM33zt0lNf6LcvPpSu56vUD3AWc39NrGFZHErP4hod1P0aQnZVpZi0VVA_L_Awmi4TsxzmJTv7g2y7yIrzdBklQUnDFzTsjW3lhLC1d0VPkntIot6fov7GJLJovVQ/s320/cake" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5442336746732989762" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXkM80jwUnp6vmvOV5FqF5LhrXlPhe6S7u0jkdlLQ8GRA7MEQEb1IxIJ9xtDnI5Jq7GCwVK5K9Cx80miKLOH11lPuT2-xji-B06Bzy6qBpHINg-MebClx1fxe4ZIGZzXQvN9qXVcQlsI0/s320/clairapic1" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5442336535331124754" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtCm6qNi-r-Ut0jqrYg7-7rz3rpzEfOY_f3NCZZlVZECPCIFQIwPgdo-9QRsLMp34jobWtJolVIFYAaqHKPOZTDYvmCiA9-LbJqW46PQ8l4FfyHGe97wnwLjEjxWmOIWEYxFRYa0DkzS8/s320/clairapic" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5442336328885307762" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuJDmcS5Ngxrcoe3CZVrCpakp6WSvzB_YOBefr0l9z4BzrwkdwdNLJaFbZVv-O1Q9Y_c68VHP0kEPVoJ5wFi-ajjJERTmsDCMLZzbylMZvrJW0Xa0gzqrz8d8Mm-HrQ01gugdzC2TPjYA/s320/clairapic2" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5442336139740439794" />
Fun at Chuck E. I have to use the laptop and Jared has been taking it to work with him. But I thought I would share a story.
I was sitting in the living room trying to get Claira's PJs on when I felt something on my head. It was really no big deal almost like hair shifting or something like that but it was enough to make me brush off my head. So I did and then I screamed like a terrified little girl, for there on my lap had plopped a large spider I'm not talking daddy long leg here. I mean it was a gross thick dark spider. I'm not normally so, well, girly when it comes to spiders, I mean I don't play with them or anything but I will go get a tissue and "clean them up" I guess. In this case there was no tissue I smacked Charlotte so hard she crumpled up into a little ball right there on my lap. Bethany came running from behind the couch Mommy Mommy are you OK. Of course, I told her everything was fine Mommy was just very "surprised" by the friendly, not so little spider. Ewwww though, I mean seriously gross. The spider must have fallen from the ceiling or something. Not a pleasant thought. For the last couple of days now I have been constantly running my hands through my hair. YuckKellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-46293148187412812242010-02-19T15:46:00.000-08:002010-02-19T16:02:48.686-08:00Birthday pictures coming soon! Thank you Mom for always having your camera. She took almost all of the pictures as I forgot my camera at home.Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-91722067654659373562010-02-03T13:54:00.000-08:002010-02-04T21:13:20.324-08:00My new baby GirlI got my ultrasound yesterday and it looks like another baby girl for me. Its what we predicted and we are totally excited. To be honest, I was hoping for a boy. Only because I DO want a boy eventually and the chances keep getting slimmer. But don't get me wrong, I LOVE my girls and I am really excited that the three of them will be close.

Now, I need help. I want input. This precious child must have a name. The Plan:Every year of our marriage corresponds to a letter in respect to what we will name our children so 2006:A 2007:B 2008:C 2009:D 2010:E. Bethany was born in 2007 and Claira in 2008 hence the B and C names. This year is the letter E.

We have a list of favorites and I want you (yes you whoever you are reading this)to tell me your favorites from the list or tell me what your absolute favorite "E" girl name is. (please no Elizabeths. The name has been crossed out because Jared's sister Audra is about to have her very own Elizabeth)

ONE condition, NO negative comments, just which ones you LIKE and why or come up with your own.

I hope lots of people will participate. I am looking forward to your comments

In no specific order:
Elise (Elly)
Eloise (Elly)
Emelia (Emmy)
Emmaline (Emma)
Elianna (Elly)Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-66600293511042697982010-02-03T13:19:00.000-08:002010-02-03T13:54:48.783-08:00Bethany's BirthdayBethany is 3 years old!!! Wow, it is unbelievable to me. We had a good trip to CO where Bethany enjoyed her birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. I forgot my camera in NM, so I have to rely on my Mom to email me pictures. Pictures to be posted soon I hope. Bethany(and Claira) had a blast at the party. We are so grateful for all the presents she got. Though, I have to say, I wish her My little pony had NOT come with a DVD. She LOVES it, but it is a series of 7, 5 minute clips. There is NO "play all" option. We have not "found" it since coming home from Colorado:)Anyway, Bethany loved playing with her cousins and everyone had a great time. I am so glad we went up to visit.

Monday was Bethany's actual birthday. I mentioned in my previous post that she was getting a rocking horse. She enjoys it immensely. It seems like she is on it all day. "bye Mom, I'm going to the store" she calls out as she rides away on the horse and "You stay in the barn now Cliff, I'll be back" when she leaves the horse for a while. Yes, the horse's name is Cliff. I have no idea where she got it from but a friend asked her what her horse's name was and that's what she said. Please do not be confused, Cliff is most definitely a girl as Bethany will vehemently tell you.

I feel so blessed to have my Bethany. She is an incredibly bright, capable, delightful young girl and I am so proud to be her Mommy. I am looking forward to many more exciting years with her, her sister Claira, and her sister on the way(more on that in the next post)Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-55579895252167305662010-01-25T09:57:00.000-08:002010-01-25T10:34:39.999-08:00I am so frustrated, all I want to do is get that stupid background out from behind my header/banner. I looked it up on TCBOTB but what it said to delete my template html didn't have. Grrrrr.
Well, on a brighter note Bethany turns three in a week. I can't believe it. She is so grown up. Her cousin Noah has a birthday just the day before and is turning four. We decided to celebrate their birthdays together. So I am off to Colorado this week for some birthday party fun. Unfortunately, Jared can't make it. We'll be back in NM for her real birthday on Monday so we will have a family celebration at home. Her favorite movie at present is The Black Stallion(awww, Mommy's little girl). We decided to get her a rocking horse, you know the ones with springs we all had as kids. Since they are fairly expensive we decided to search on Craigslist. We found a few. A couple of them were brown and one was black. Before we could get up to Albuquerque most of them were gone, BUT the Black wasn't. YEAH! I think I might be more excited than she is going to be.
I hope to post pictures soon.Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-13241163797954950892010-01-20T09:37:00.000-08:002010-01-20T10:23:52.714-08:00The things toddlers sayI love my little Bethany. She amuses us every day with the little things she says and does. I thought I would include some here for you to enjoy.

A week ago we were driving to Utah for Jared's grandfather's funeral. It was dusk and we decided to switch drivers so we pulled over to the side of the road. Without much ado we were back on the road. We were faces forward looking at the hours of travel in front of us, when Bethany said from her carseat in the back, "Look the sky is pink for me and God.""What?" we asked as we glanced at the marvelous sunset just to our left. She said, "Jesus made the sky pink for me because I like pink. Jesus loves me."The striking colors in the sky were gone a moment later. If she hadn't said anything I'm sure we would have missed the entire glorious spectacle. We smiled for miles to come, Yes my dear Jesus does love you very much and so do your two very humble parents.

Our daughter is quite bright, she astounds us every day with her self-obtained conclusions of the world around her. Sometimes though, realizations of our world can be difficult. Bethany came up to Jared and me last night quite distraught. We asked her what was wrong. She replied with tears filling her eyes,"I don't know how to fly." "Are you pretending to be a bird?" we asked. "No, I'm not a bird I'm Bethany." She said with a hurt and confused look on her face, as if to say why would they think I'm a bird. Frustrated that we didn't understand this tragedy she decided to show us. She got down off of Jared's lap and ran across the living room flapping her arms. She came back to us tears rolling down her face."See I can't fly!" We both tried to keep a straight face. I miserably failed, I just couldn't stop myself from smiles and muffled laughter. Jared was doing a bit better and so Bethany decided to direct her attention to him. "Dad you need to make me feathers so I can fly."

Our children our our joy. How blessed we feel to have them in our lives. Claira doesn't say much yet but we are looking forward to the day when she can share her many insights with us. I am perhaps a little anxious, for silence has only slightly muted her fantastic personality.Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-42289772687719943562010-01-14T11:06:00.000-08:002010-01-14T11:55:34.280-08:00Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733106704171089962.post-61833217731740024472010-01-14T08:32:00.000-08:002010-01-14T11:06:36.809-08:00Christmas was so fun. We spent the holidays in Pueblo, CO with my Mom and sisters. Katie was the only one missing. Claira and Bethany loved Christmas. Bethany understands about Santa Claus now and was so excited to put out cookies and milk for him. She of course loved the presents part the best. IT was so wonderful to be with family. Along with a lot of lying around and being lazy, we played board games and took the kids (and dogs) to the park. We also spent a day sledding which was a lot of fun! I don't remember the last time I went sledding. The kids had fun too I guess :) We mostly heard "its cold" and "I'm wet" rather than this is so much fun. The snow was sooo powdery you couldn't make a snowball if you tried. Unfortunately that meant every sled run kids were getting face fulls of snow, the poor things. They all still say they had a lot of fun though.

As for me, morning sickness is finally fading away. YEAH!!! Also, I got my first ultrasound tues. Still too early to tell gender but it was fun to see the baby moving and as the sonographer said "being stubborn".

I hope everyone had a merry Christmas. Here's hoping my next post comes sooner than 4 months :)Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12102905113838593890noreply@blogger.com1
