I am so frustrated, all I want to do is get that stupid background out from behind my header/banner. I looked it up on TCBOTB but what it said to delete my template html didn't have. Grrrrr.
Well, on a brighter note Bethany turns three in a week. I can't believe it. She is so grown up. Her cousin Noah has a birthday just the day before and is turning four. We decided to celebrate their birthdays together. So I am off to Colorado this week for some birthday party fun. Unfortunately, Jared can't make it. We'll be back in NM for her real birthday on Monday so we will have a family celebration at home. Her favorite movie at present is The Black Stallion(awww, Mommy's little girl). We decided to get her a rocking horse, you know the ones with springs we all had as kids. Since they are fairly expensive we decided to search on Craigslist. We found a few. A couple of them were brown and one was black. Before we could get up to Albuquerque most of them were gone, BUT the Black wasn't. YEAH! I think I might be more excited than she is going to be.
I hope to post pictures soon.

The things toddlers say

I love my little Bethany. She amuses us every day with the little things she says and does. I thought I would include some here for you to enjoy.

A week ago we were driving to Utah for Jared's grandfather's funeral. It was dusk and we decided to switch drivers so we pulled over to the side of the road. Without much ado we were back on the road. We were faces forward looking at the hours of travel in front of us, when Bethany said from her carseat in the back, "Look the sky is pink for me and God.""What?" we asked as we glanced at the marvelous sunset just to our left. She said, "Jesus made the sky pink for me because I like pink. Jesus loves me."The striking colors in the sky were gone a moment later. If she hadn't said anything I'm sure we would have missed the entire glorious spectacle. We smiled for miles to come, Yes my dear Jesus does love you very much and so do your two very humble parents.

Our daughter is quite bright, she astounds us every day with her self-obtained conclusions of the world around her. Sometimes though, realizations of our world can be difficult. Bethany came up to Jared and me last night quite distraught. We asked her what was wrong. She replied with tears filling her eyes,"I don't know how to fly." "Are you pretending to be a bird?" we asked. "No, I'm not a bird I'm Bethany." She said with a hurt and confused look on her face, as if to say why would they think I'm a bird. Frustrated that we didn't understand this tragedy she decided to show us. She got down off of Jared's lap and ran across the living room flapping her arms. She came back to us tears rolling down her face."See I can't fly!" We both tried to keep a straight face. I miserably failed, I just couldn't stop myself from smiles and muffled laughter. Jared was doing a bit better and so Bethany decided to direct her attention to him. "Dad you need to make me feathers so I can fly."

Our children our our joy. How blessed we feel to have them in our lives. Claira doesn't say much yet but we are looking forward to the day when she can share her many insights with us. I am perhaps a little anxious, for silence has only slightly muted her fantastic personality.

Christmas was so fun. We spent the holidays in Pueblo, CO with my Mom and sisters. Katie was the only one missing. Claira and Bethany loved Christmas. Bethany understands about Santa Claus now and was so excited to put out cookies and milk for him. She of course loved the presents part the best. IT was so wonderful to be with family. Along with a lot of lying around and being lazy, we played board games and took the kids (and dogs) to the park. We also spent a day sledding which was a lot of fun! I don't remember the last time I went sledding. The kids had fun too I guess :) We mostly heard "its cold" and "I'm wet" rather than this is so much fun. The snow was sooo powdery you couldn't make a snowball if you tried. Unfortunately that meant every sled run kids were getting face fulls of snow, the poor things. They all still say they had a lot of fun though.

As for me, morning sickness is finally fading away. YEAH!!! Also, I got my first ultrasound tues. Still too early to tell gender but it was fun to see the baby moving and as the sonographer said "being stubborn".

I hope everyone had a merry Christmas. Here's hoping my next post comes sooner than 4 months :)
